My Creative Healing Space LLC Story · By Coretta Avery

A purpose revealed over time

Creative Healing Space LLC was born out of the work I had already been doing for years—helping people heal, grow, and find hope through support, creativity, and practical tools for life.

My journey began in human services, advocacy, and therapy support, where I had the opportunity to work with diverse populations including seniors, individuals in recovery, youth, families, and adults navigating difficult life transitions. Through my work as a therapist with Drexel University’s Caring Together Program, I provided individual and group support and created a group called The Art of Recovery, where I combined addiction recovery management skills with creative art projects. I saw firsthand how creativity opened doors for healing, expression, confidence, and connection in ways that traditional approaches alone sometimes could not.

My experience as a Long-Term Care Ombudsman further deepened my passion for advocacy, dignity, and empowerment. Working with seniors and adults with disabilities taught me the importance of helping people find their voice, access resources, and feel seen. I also carried this heart into free art classes for seniors, teen mentoring, Vacation Bible School leadership, and community workshops.

“Helping people transform pain, ideas, and life experiences into something meaningful.”

At the same time, creativity has always been a natural part of who I am. I design jewelry, make clothing, recreate thrifted fashion into new designs, and have taught others how to do the same through workshops at Mt. Airy Learning Tree. I have also developed journals, books, and coloring books through Amazon KDP and Etsy, using publishing as another tool for encouragement, reflection, and healing.

Over time, I realized that all of these experiences—therapy, advocacy, teaching, art, mentoring, leadership, and publishing—were connected by one central purpose: helping people transform pain, ideas, and life experiences into something meaningful.

That realization led me to establish Creative Healing Space LLC, a business dedicated to helping individuals heal and grow through creative wellness programs, workshops, journals, mentorship, and transformational resources.

Creative Healing Space LLC is more than a business to me. It is a space where creativity meets healing, where practical life growth meets expression, and where people can move from brokenness to purpose. My vision is to continue building it into a structured organization that serves seniors, women, youth, caregivers, and communities through programs that inspire healing, resilience, and transformation.
